We’re planting the seed for fall florals. Sure, they may seem, dare we say it, late to the game, but this season’s wistful blooms are a darker, much moodier bunch. Delicate wildflower patterns bring drama to romantic ruffles and decadent devoré velvet textures, and when worn with poppy-bright, ’70s-style knits, offer a fresh perspective for fall. Care for them now and watch your style kudos grow as the season progresses and the weather gets colder.
STYLE TIP: Usually find florals a little too feminine? Picking unexpected accessories such as patent stiletto boots to go with your brooding blooms might change your mood.
The actress, journalist & model reveals her favorite neighbourhood haunts
Ever felt like a rolling stone? Hamburg-born Jessica Joffe can relate. After a nomadic childhood spent between Munich, London and Paris, she eventually settled in what she affectionately calls the Lower Upper East Side, New York. She couldn't tell us the year she first moved to the city without revealing her age (a lady never tells), but we do know it coincided with her first New York moment – landing a job at the prestigious literary magazine, The Paris Review. And despite since working for the New York Observer and as a model and actress (she was in 2014's A Most Wanted Man), the area's off-beat charm and 'glamorous grannies' continue to captivate her.

The original Man Repeller
If you haven’t already heard of Leandra Medine, you’ve more than definitely heard of her alias. The face and brains behind Man Repeller, the blogger, journalist and all-around fashion industry favorite is renowned for her irreverent, witty take on life and style – with a podcast, best-selling book and eponymous shoe line under her tube-top belt. Leandra knows better than anyone the importance of switching off come summer (easier said than done), which is why we’re asking her how she manages it. Follow her lead, turn your Out of Office on and join us as we find out...
Instantly recognizable by her outré wardrobe, Leandra’s charismatic style is one we all want to emulate. Ditch the pants and opt for summery shorts, fancy flats and statement tops to make your presence felt this season.
Look up the definition of ‘essential’ and you’ll find just one word. Denim.Because no closet is complete without a pair of jeans, we’re giving the unsung style hero the attention it deserves. From trending pieces by J Brand to cool-as-a-cucumber cuts from rag & bone and more, it’s time to get down with all things denim.
Stripes for summer? A classic, we know, but this season, designers went above and beyond, inspired by everything from beach towels and parasols to deck chairs. Straightforward yet sophisticated, these stripes come thick and fast, emboldened in primary colors and graphic diagonals. Forget tan lines: striking stripes are the only lines we’re talking about now.STYLE TIP: Whether they’re horizontal, vertical, bold or thin, the thing to play with is the direction your stripes are headed. And fear not: there’s no such thing as going overboard when it comes to mixing your stripes!
Opposites attract – and there’s nothing a floral print loves more than the harder line of a casual jacket. Denim is a compelling option for summer, while a biker will give you the advantage when the weather cools.
If your heart thumps to the beat of the 1970s, a boho-beautiful blouse and maxi combo has your name on it. We suggest opting for something simple to make your dress the main event. Stevie Nicks would be proud!

Natalie is the first and last word in finding the ultimate standout piece, so we’re getting some advice from the expert herself. Cue the video...

Gone are the days when ‘workwear’ meant stiff, stuffy tailoring. Summer’s latest crop of al desko offerings have promoted color to the boardroom, where bold primaries are balanced against clean, classic neutrals. Warm notes of paprika and saffron meet fresh hues of sky blue, invigorating pared-down pieces from Theory, Joseph and more.
STYLE TIP: Keep an eye out for mix-and-match layers; fine knits and airy cotton shirts are capable of withstanding the office air-con. These are the styles that work as hard as you do.
Versatility may not be the first thing you’d associate with a wardrobe white out – but take our word for it, this season’s top-to-toe trend is, well, quite all white!Between clean lines and a near-clinical minimalism, this palette-cleansing look is all about architectural structure and tailored silhouettes. Buckled waistlines, oversized midi dresses and sporty cotton separates are your answer to a fresh summer wardrobe that works for the office and beyond. In fact, consider this your ticket to sartorial carte blanche!STYLE TIP: Keep utilitarian hardware and functional finishes on your radar. Chromatic buckles, neutral accents and accessories will draw the eye and give an edge to white-on-white ensembles.
As sweet as sorbet and 10 times as cool, #MillennialPink is the hue that’s making headlines this season. Why? Attitude! Streetwise separates and contemporary accessories may be the color of bubblegum – but they pop with something that's far more grown-up.
Frills, folksy embroidery and flyaway silhouettes that put the ‘air’ in prairie, this season’s bohemian rhapsodies fall elegantly short of the full ‘Little House’ treatment – less Laura Ingalls Wilder and more Aegean-hopping adventuress. Picture easy breezy looks from Chloé, Zimmermann and more paired with studded suede and eclectic jewelry. We can’t promise the sun will shine, but we can have you soaking up the summer of love in style.STYLE TIP: Where fabrics are light, keep your palette lighter still. Be it pale marble, sun-bleached terracotta or white sands, camouflage your wardrobe to your surroundings.

On your marks, get set… Go!
Some people call coats the bikinis of winter. Actually, no one calls them that, but you cannot deny that when it comes to the colder months, a warm layer is utterly essential.
This season, it’s plaid, shearling and statement coats that are getting our attention – and in case you can’t stop at one (who can blame you?), we’ll throw in off-duty and classic styles for good measure.
That’s a wrap!
Fall is here – and with it comes the usual array of sartorial unknowns. Is it too soon for a scarf? What about a coat? But amidst all this uncertainty, there is one thing we can rely on: boots. We’re spoilt for choice this season, with colored, biker, evening and ankle styles all catching our attention – and for when the temperature really drops, the perfect knee high is all you need to brave the elements. The only unknown here is, how many pairs is too many?
What were the starting points for this collection?
We were looking at the Abstract Expressionists of the New York School. We were drawn to the work of Helen Frankenthaler specifically: her process often included thinning out paint and pouring it over canvas without really having any pre-conceived notions of what the outcome would be.
What technical processes were involved in the creation of your carwash slash fabric?
We wanted to work with natural materials, so a lot of shearling, wool, spotted calf and Mongolian lamb fur. We liked the idea of leaving things raw and undone.
How would the Proenza Schouler woman wear your super chunky knits?
We’re obsessed with knitwear these days, the idea of something slouchy but lean and covered up. It feels cool to us, sexy in a modern kind of way. We especially like the idea of wearing a knit over a pleated skirt – it gives the silhouette movement, freedom and ease.
It’s time to take a hands-on approach to accessorizing. From the top-handled totes and miniature must-haves (that are the new season's take on the ladylike trend), to statement clutches, bucket bags and cross-body carryalls, these five hero styles are your essential companions for fall and beyond. Get in on the action with our cherry-picked edit: a chic ensemble is in the bag.
