THE CASHMERE BOUTIQUE

Bring your closet in from the cold! As attention turns to the winter months, ‘cozy’ is quickly becoming the operative word in our wardrobe – and cashmere is by far the chicest way to keep the chills at bay.

The crème de la crème of knitwear, strokeable pieces serve two purposes in one, fulfilling a brief for layers that are both substantial and stylish. From the crew-neck knits and accessories you need to survive the season, to expert advice on how to care for your cashmere, our comprehensive boutique will warm you to the core.

THE LAYERS

THE LAYERS

With the weather leaving much to be desired, our first instinct is to swaddle ourselves in softness – embrace luxe layers, from capes to coatigans and cuddlesome knits.

THE TURTLENECK

THE TURTLENECK

‘Hygge’ in a high-neck: the turtleneck is the seventies stalwart that’s still a favorite. Why? When the chill sets in, this sumptuously warm style will shrug off the season’s punches.

TIPS & TRICKS

THE CASHMERE CONNOISSEUR:

A Q&A WITH SOPHIE GOODWIN, FASHION DIRECTOR AT TATLER

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR STORING CASHMERE PIECES?
Fold neatly in garment bags with anti-moth sachets, color co-ordinate them to avoid rummaging around in a panic in the morning and, when you travel, always wrap in tissue.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE DESIGNERS FOR CASHMERE?
Brunello Cucinelli, JosephChinti & Parker and Lingua Franca.

BESIDES THE CLASSIC CREW-NECK, WHAT CASHMERE STYLES WILL BE ON HIGH ROTATION IN YOUR WARDROBE THIS WINTER?
Cropped jumpers look fab with high-waisted jeans or a silk shirt underneath. And turtlenecks are terribly chic!

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO PAIRING FOR A CASHMERE SWEATER?
I love a thin cashmere knit tucked into a pencil or a tulip skirt. Otherwise, a shorter one worn over a maxi skirt – I have an Iris & Ink navy style that I wear all the time, no matter the season.

ANY SECRETS FOR CARING FOR YOUR CASHMERE?
Always hand wash inside-out in cold water, and dry flat – add a little lavender or lemon water to make it smell lovely. And you’ll need to de-bobble regularly. Oddly, the best thing for this is a Bic razor – I do it while watching Netflix.
