Diane von Furstenberg founded her eponymous line in 1972. The brand has become synonymous with the wrap dress, and such was the success of the brand from the start, that Diane was featured on the cover of Newsweek, with the accompanying article proclaiming her ‘the most marketable woman since Coco Chanel’.  It has since become a global luxury fashion brand celebrated for its bold and creative approach to color and print, and admired for its sensual femininity.

After moving to New York, DVF (as she is known by many), met the then influential Vogue editor Diana Vreeland and she championed her designs and encouraged her to show the collection at New York Fashion Week. She is now president of the CFDA, a position she has held since 2006. DVF has remained relevant and forward thinking from its inception, with designs that enhance a woman’s femininity and confidence, as she famously said ‘feel like a woman, wear a dress’.

Headquartered in New York City, DVF is a truly global brand. With roots in the Andy Warhol and Studio 54 era, the newly re-established Chief Creative Officer, Nathan Jenden, continues to reinvent and evolve the brand whilst remaining true to the core signature aesthetic. Testament to the design credentials, the brand has been worn by everyone from Madonna to the Duchess of Cambridge, and the collection includes ready to wear, accessories and shoes. Diane remains a female icon and champions feminist causes and is a prominent philanthropist.
