HERITAGE PRINTS

Off to the races? How about a cozy weekend in the country? You’re covered; fashion is feeling everyday-equestrian-chic through time-honored prints and textures. Think Brit-reminiscent plaid and checks from Victoria Beckham and Veronica Beard, and plenty of Fair Isle. And don’t be afraid to combine of all the above, either. While exuding an air of aristo-inspired timelessness is in, great style is always about being bold.

When considering your sweater-weather staples, go hearty and heavy on your knitwear choices. A flash of red from Anine Bing nicely breaks up prints. Layer up with a quilted coat, barn jacket, or classic trench. Top everything off with more print à la Acne Studios snug-chic scarf. These fall cornerstones are always a smart investment, but this season they’ll work overtime to nail the woodsy trend.

RIDING BOOTS

So long over-the-knee boots. Enter the riding romper. AKA, the perfect pair of shoes to round out your equine-inspired look. Stuart Weitzman’s just under-the-knee style can easily take you from casual to dressy, or office to weekend—simply style with Frame’s wide-leg jeans and swap your chunky knit for a crisp shirt. The trick for true versatility here is to hold off excessive embellishments and opt for sleeker, more streamlined pairs. Finish the look with an autumnal-hued bag by Wandler.

Can’t get enough of boots season? Same. Invest in the season’s favored baggy style too, because boho is going nowhere and we’re not sorry about it.

AFTER DARK ROMANCE

Ethereal pastels and flouncy silhouettes of last season have stepped aside to make way for a sultrier femininity. Dark romance rises to the fore—use it to cue your evening ensembles.

This trend is all about blending the gothic and romantic. Opt for blacks, burgundies, and deep hues. Lace-trimmed looks, slinky silks, and chiffon numbers will be your new best friend. Think easy nonchalance when styling, as opposed to streamlined, quiet luxury.

We love this lace-trimmed gown from Zimmermann with a pair of Malone Souliers pumps. For a day-to-nightapproach, try flared denim and a lingerie-like camisole with flats. Finally, layer a blazer on top of all your looks—rich tapestries, leather, and satin are all the rage right now. Add gold-toned earrings or a belt for a touch of je ne sais quoi.

ULTRA-MAXI COATS

Each season, we like to bring one steadfast, hero piece to your attention. That one style which will become your trusty companion, and see you through the coming days, months, and seasons. For FW25, this piece is an ultra-maxi coat—a cold-month staple but with a super sophisticated, supersized reimagining. Why we love it? Because this style is basically your whole outfit.

Look for extra-long styles that skim the ankles like this Anine Bing wonder. Also keep an eye out for roomy silhouettes that leave lots of space for layering sumptuous knitwear like The Elder Statesman’s sweater underneath.

When you find a failsafe coat for less, why not invest in two? Opt for sharper lapels and a structured fit if you need something ultra-elegant to complete work and eveningwear looks. Go slouchy and belted when off-duty. A great maxi coat will instantly elevate your everyday style.
