British blogger, author and red-carpet reporter Louise Roe truly lives life on the front row. Beginning her career as the news editor for British Vogue.com, she decided to make the move Stateside, switching the moody skies of London for the bright lights of West Hollywood back in 2009. Of course, Louise won over US hearts, thanks to her effortless style and charming personality. And after landing a hosting role on MTV makeover show Plain Jane _and presenting red-carpet coverage for NBC’s _Access Hollywood _and E!’s _Fashion Police, she now counts herself as a bona fide Angeleno. When she’s not sharing her impeccable outfits of the day and tips on being a new mother via her blog, Front Roe, Louise is also a women’s-rights ambassador. No wonder she was first on our Speed Dial when it comes to getting the LA look.

Ok, Louise Roe, I’m going to describe you as a ‘multi-hyphenate’ how would you describe your job to the uninitiated?

LR: Probably ‘blogger’ is the easiest at the moment. I have done a few different jobs in my career but at the moment I think the thing I do the most that sums it up is blogging.

So multi-talented we’ve established. Is there anything you _can’t _do?

LR: No. Nothing.

You’re amazing Louise, and so modest!

LR: Tightrope walking, the lot…

You’ve lived in LA, am I right, for nearly 10 years now. Would you say you’re a converted California girl?

LR: I love California – it’s an incredible state – however, I think the longer I’ve been here the more British I have felt. I do miss home a lot.

I think LA’s got a very distinctive style. Would you say you’ve been an adopter of that?

LR: I feel a sort of mix, really, of London, maybe a bit of New York, and I think LA’s just got cooler.

So have you picked up any amazing LA brands tin your time that you could recommend?

LR: There are loads, actually. They do casual wear in a really amazing way, but I love Vince; I think Current Elliott and its sister company Joie do really great… everything from jeans to a cute floral dress.

You’re mingling with the Hollywood stars, has anyone left you star struck?

LR: Well, actually Amal and George, I did see them once, at dinner at the Sunset Tower, and that was a moment. I went to a dinner party at my friend’s house, Demi Moore showed up halfway through, looking stunning, and she’s so cool she joined in a dance routine.

Was it The Conga…?

LR: No! It was more complicated than The Conga! It wasn’t The Macarena either!

We see you regularly reporting from the red carpet. Have you got a favorite look of all time?

LR: For someone who I actually interviewed in it, it was Gwyneth (Paltrow) in the white Tom Ford dress with cape, the Oscars 2012, for me, less is more. Ugh, it was heaven.

What is the best thing about life in LA?

LR: It’s got to be the weather, to be honest. You do wake up to a blue sky every day, and it just lifts you. I think it’s the best climate in the world.

What do you miss most about the UK – is it the weather?

LR: I miss food – I found this grocery shop online that delivers English foods and I had a box come and I’m more excited about that than a new pair of shoes.

What have you got? Marmite? PG Tips?

LR: What haven’t I got? I was going to get baked beans, but I thought that was a bit heavy to fly over.

So, if you were going to sum up LA life and style in one word, what would it be?

LR: Laid-back. It’s a nice, slower pace.
