THE TRANS-SEASONAL EDIT
There was a time when our wardrobes changed with the seasons. Spring heralded a clear volte face of ‘out with the old, in with new’. Now as the seasons blur, hyped-up trends feel irrelevant and day-to-day life continues with its stop-start vagaries, we need pieces to rely on all year round, and for years to come. Perennial staples that you know, like an old friend, are always there. They bring a sure-footed ease because they are bound in reality. Cue everyday jeans and Breton stripes, fine-ribbed knits and sweater dresses. They may not shout “the latest” as we stroll down the street, but they whisper, “what lasts”. Whether we’re spending our days inside or out, at work or at home – the khaki jumpsuit, the essential denim jacket, the leather trousers – these are our reliable, well-crafted, wardrobe heroes in tones rooted in nature that make us feel secure and confident, no matter how ever-shifting the world around us.
